Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions about Annual Giving

What is the goal for this year's campaign?

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to help check things off our list! We need 100% participation from SCSC families to help us get there.

Why does SCSC ask every family to make a contribution?

We are asking families to match this level of commitment. Since 100% of our students benefit from the donations we receive each year, it would be a terrific statement from our community that 100% of our school families have contributed. High participation is also a crucial factor in our quest for grants from third parties. Every contribution, no matter the size, is significant and demonstrates your support of SCSC.

Will my contribution be recognized?

We appreciate contributions of any amount! Large contributions are recognized on plaques displayed in the entry vestibule. The levels are Platinum: $2500; Gold: $1000; Silver $500 and Bronze $100.

Why does a public school like SCSC need donations?

Unlike traditional public schools, SCSC must rely on fixed funding from local school districts to meet the needs of our students. We don't have the ability to raise taxes to increase revenue the way that school districts do.

How do I donate? Can I use a credit card?

It's easy to donate by sending in a check payable to SCSC or using your credit card through Pay Pal from our website at scsc4kids.org. A Pay Pal account is not required.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes, we will send you a tax receipt.

Will my company match my contribution?

Many companies match contributions. Please check with your company's HR Department. This is an easy way to increase the size of your donation.

Do my contributions at other fundraisers count towards Annual Giving?

While we deeply appreciate all contributions and volunteer hours, The Annual Giving Campaign is unique and is tracked separately. We strive for 100% participation. Remember, any amount counts!

Can I donate in installments or on a monthly basis?

Please donate with any frequency that works best for your family. You can send in check in installments or use your credit card via Pay Pal from our website.

I've made a contribution to Annual Giving -- what else can I do to help?

Please volunteer at Work Days and throughout the year. Volunteer hours are a critical component of how we keep our expenses low, so that we can direct our spending to instruction. Also, you can help build our treasure chest by using Amazon Smile, buying grocery certificates, sending in ink catridges for recyling, and clipping Box Tops and Labels for Education. Every little bit helps!
