Singapore Math upholds high academic standards. It supports students in learning new concepts and working through independent practice on these concepts. The goal of Singapore Math is to build a foundation of critical thinking that will position students for success in more advanced concepts by building core knowledge of a concept before moving on to new concepts. The program promotes this by first introducing students to key concepts with pictures and concrete examples. The student then progresses to understanding the abstract concept. It is a balance between independent practice, mental calculations, word problems, and creative problem solving.
Students in grades K through 5 use Primary Mathematics 2022 Edition. Grades 6 - 8 use Math in Focus.
