100 Book Challenge

100 Book Challenge is a unified system of independent reading for students and instructional reading for teachers. The program allows all students access to great books. 100 Book Challenge integrates all reading materials and assessment tools into one simple color-coded system that kids, teachers and parents can understand and use to learn in their daily work together. All students are reading at their independent level. Students read for at least 30 minutes a day at school and read at home. During this time teachers are conferencing with students and determining the next step in each student's reading instruction. Skills and concepts are embedded in the program. Additionally, this program develops a sense of family literacy in all homes by holding students accountable for their reading. Through all the components students learn to love books and are inspired to be life long readers.
